Spring Citrus Tablescape

Spring Citrus TablescapeI love Spring, because it welcomes a new color palette into my home. For my Spring Tablescape this year, I was inspired by my youngest baby, Rumi. To me, she exudes the colors yellow sunshine, tangerine and blush pink which reminds me of bright citrus colors.

Once I determined the yellow, orange and pink color palette, I let my creativity flow. I am in love with all of the spring blooms I’ve been finding at the grocery store, so I decided to incorporate my own  DIY spring arrangement into the tablescape.

It had the perfect mix of muted nude garden roses, peach juliets, white spray roses, white and peach ranunculus, cymbidium orchids and silver dollar eucalyptus.

I used a pink velvet linen to cover my dining table as a clean backdrop for my florals and place settings. For the place settings, I used what I already had at home and added a pink linen napkin with a cute bowtie napkin ring for some fun textures.

To bring in an Easter element, I used custom cookies from my favorite SoCal baker, Sweetleemade. Elise’s birthday is so close to Easter, so we had her name stamped into the cookies as a special treat for her! She loved that her name was on each place setting.

Here’s a list of the items I incorporated into the design:

Spring is all about big fresh blooms, so I didn’t want to make this tablescape look minimalistic. I have a lemon tree at home that paired perfectly with the cara cara oranges we had from the farmers market, along with the tangerines my kids love.

To make the table look nice and full, we flanked the floral arrangement with the lemons and oranges cut in half and mixed them with some peeled and whole tangerines for the perfect final touch. We even laid the leftover eucalyptus underneath the citrus to let the yellow and orange tones pop even more against the greens and pink linen.

The fresh citrus brought out the yellow and orange tones in my arrangement, so the tablescape looked lively and bright. Not to mention, my entire dining room smelled so fresh and citrusy!

Nice tablescapes do not require you to hire professional florists in order for them to look nice, especially during springtime. You can find such beautiful blooms at the grocery store and mixing them with a fresh edible element is a great way to fill up the table, while keeping things affordable. I hope this inspires you to create your own citrus inspired spring tablescape.
