We are living in an age of technology. It’s wild to think about how many advancements have been made with phones, computers, and TVs during the past decade. While we may sometimes feel like we need a break from all the screens, we are pretty lucky to literally have everything we need at our fingertips. Running a business, raising children, and keeping a house clean is a lot to keep up with! There are so many apps that you can download to make mommy life a little bit easier. The best part? All of these 10 apps for moms I’m sharing today are free!
10 Free Apps For Moms
New apps for work, parents, productivity, organization, and socialization are coming out every day. Here are some of my current favorites and highly-rated apps that I recommend checking out.
1. Cozi
Cozi is a free digital family organizer app for parents. It’s a one stop shop for all aspects of your day to day activities and routines. If you are someone who likes to check off lists, Cozi allows you to create custom to-do lists and shopping lists. You can even print off individualized chore lists for your kids!
This app also includes a calendar, recipes and meal planner. If you find a great recipe online, there is a function to import it directly into your Cozi app, which makes creating a grocery list super simple. The best part is that all of your calendars and lists can be shared with your other family members so everyone is on the same page. You can learn more about this great app here.
2. Instacart
Whether you are a parent or not, we all lead busy lives. If you haven’t tried grocery pick up or delivery, you’re missing out. Instacart allows you to grocery shop from your phone, and then either have those groceries delivered or picked up from your favorite local community store. Depending on your location, you can get groceries delivered in as quick as an hour or two. Learn more about Instacart here.
3. Insight Timer
If you enjoy meditation like I do, then the Insight Timer app is one that you’ll want to check out. It includes over 55,000 free guided meditations and music tracks. Some meditations are guided by celebrities such as Russel Brand. Selections include meditations and music specifically for issues such as anxiety, overwhelm, and deep sleep. There is even a section of children meditations. I encourage all the busy moms to try this out and experience a few minutes of peace. This is one of the best meditation free apps that I’ve seen. You can check out the guided meditations here.
4. The Bump
The Bump is one of the best pregnancy apps for expecting and new mothers. This app helps you break down every part of your pregnancy from preparing for your first doctor visit to resources once your baby is born. The app will track your baby and provide you with a 3D visualization of their growth. It will even compare your baby’s size to a corresponding fruit each week to give you an idea of how big they are. You can store your pregnancy photos in the in-app photo album, which continues through your baby’s first year. The Bump is also the largest catalog of bay products and reviews, so it’s the perfect place to build your registry. It is available on Google Play here.
5. Peanut
It can be difficult for moms to meet other moms who are in the same stage of life as them. Motherhood has a way of being joyous and very lonely at the same time. The Peanut app is like a social networking matchmaker for women. It’s mission is to connect women with other like-minded women. But it’s not just for women who are already moms though. It’s also created specifically for women who are expectant mothers or women trying to conceive. You may be able to meet moms in your neighborhood or moms from another part of the world. What an awesome way to build a supportive community. Try it out here!
6. Forest
Okay, this app is seriously brilliant. Forest is a productivity app that helps you stay focused and limit your phone addiction. I’m including this on the list because it’s a great tool for the work-from-home super mom. This app tracks your time that you are staying focused on a task. Whenever you want to stay focused on a task, simply open the app and virtually plant a tree. So long as you continue to focus on your task, and not open your phone, your tree will continue to grow. Leaving the app before you’re done will cause the tree to die.
The most amazing part is that by staying focused, you earn credits in the app, which plants real trees around the world. How cool is that? Spending less time on your cell phone can actually help the environment. This also comes in handy if you’re out for dinner or drinks with friends and want to avoid the desire to look at your cell phone mid-conversation. Check our the Forest app here.
7. Mint
Mint is a free financial app that makes budgeting easy. It combines all of our bank accounts, credit cards, etc. into one place and tracks how much money you’re spending and what you’re spending on. Sometimes it can be surprising to see where all of our spending is actually going, so this app is perfect for creating and staying on a budget. Read about all the Mint features here.
8. Shutterfly
We all love taking pictures of our kids and our lives, but it’s the worst when you run out of storage on your phone. The Shutterfly app gives you free unlimited photo storage. You can easily order prints or share photos on social media. Learn all about the free perks here.
9. 7 Minute Workout
As busy moms, working out tends to fall last on our to-do list. The 7 Minute Workout app offers free 7 minute workouts that require no equipment. Sounds to good to be true? It’s not! This app is awesome for squeezing some movement into your day whenever you can. Download it here.
10. Amazon
I couldn’t make this list without including the ultimate app…Amazon. I used to only use Amazon on my computer (crazy, I know). Downloading the Amazon app on my phone has made ordering last minute things so easy. I buy all my kid-friendly activities with the click of a button. I love that I can track my orders and get an alert when they are out for delivery. It’s not always the best for our bank accounts but hey, a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do!
